         <description><![CDATA[<div>Dr. <a href="https://www.emed.wisc.edu/michael-repplinger-md-phd">Michael Repplinger</a> aims to identify the barriers and facilitators to using ultrasound and MR in the ED. His <a href="https://www.emed.wisc.edu/emergency-radiology">research program</a> focuses on improving patient safety and clinical outcomes by implementing advanced, radiation-free imaging in the ED. Additionally, Dr. Repplinger has more recently joined other research groups at UW Health to improve care of patients with opioid use disorder in the Madison area.</div>]]></description>

         <title>DEM EDRC Program Celebrates Its 5th Anniversary</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 2016, the <strong>Emergency Department Research Coordinator (EDRC) Program</strong> launched within the BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM). In 2021, the program celebrates its <strong>5th anniversary</strong> and the many achievements that it has experienced since its inception. Over 5 years, the program has <strong>completed</strong> <strong>17 research studies</strong> and enrolled over <strong>3,800 patients</strong>, with 10 additional studies currently underway.<br><br>Along with its mission to support clinical and translational research, the EDRC Program has served as a stepping stone for <strong>20+ research coordinators</strong>, offering valuable experience for early-career individuals, many who go on to medical or PA school, MPH studies, or successful industry positions.
