While The Translator is a very well done student film, in nonetheless feels and has all the hallmarks of a amateur made movie, especially when it comes to the acting. The main characters Ben, Rachel, and Claire, are all played by real high school students and the realness is a bit to real as they certainly act like kids making a movie. The “villain" of the film Rachel playful toys with her hair when she is flirting with her love interest Ben, but scowls and scrunches up her face when speaking to her rival, Claire. Her overdramatic responses are not believable and actively make you route for her to leave the screen. The remaining two characters are just as believable as Rachel, only more annoying as their gullibility and less than acting skills have you asking if these high school students actually know how to play high school students. It seems as if though these young actors would be perfectly suited for their roles, but in reality, their poor acting is a distraction that takes away from the notable camera and editing work that was put into this film. 

 

The special effect of the character’s emotion is the light-spot of the movie. Not just making the audience laugh, but it can also affect the atmosphere and highlight the mentality of the “Translator”. For example, when Ben wanted to tell Clare that he likes her, the director gave a close shot of Rachel’s eye, which showed her anger and jealousies. Besides this, there were also some similar parts and all of them is to show the emotion of the translator. Although the effects are cheap and looks stupid, still, it can make the audience understand the movie and feel joyful. 

This short animation of 2 ballon dogs in a cactus desert include a lot of marvelous background music that really suits this film. When the two dogs are dancing, the music is brisk and relax so it makes the audience feel their emotion with out any dialogue.  In contract, when they are falling from the cliff, the music became fast and dangerous. This make the audience to feel what is happening in the film and can be involve better in it. On the other hand, the volume of the music shows the emotion of the two dogs. When they meet each other at the beginning of the film, the music volume rose suddenly and the music became smoother. This caused the audience to feel that the two dogs are excited to see each other and have a great relationship. 

The element I must enjoy in this animation is its score. The reason I enjoy it a lot Is because it builds-up the atmosphere and supports the movements of the balloons. 

 

A very interesting fact of this animation is that although it has no talking, the audience can still understand it by listening to the background music and the camera shots. Unlike other animations, the two characters are inanimate. In this situation, the only way to know what are they thinking is to watch their movements. These things made it unique to others. 

Two balloon dogs had fall in love in a dessert that is full of cactus and started tango in the dessert. They use different movement to dodge the cactus that surround them on their way to escape this dangerous environment, but encounter a steep cliff, they put their body together and transform to a phoenix and fly away in the end.

 

The short story between 2 balloon dogs was set in a desert that is fill with cactus, director shows that “fear is nothing in front of love” by 2 elements—Balloon&Cactus. The film was filled by emotional music, when the red balloon was traveling through the cactus forest, the music was single guitar notes, it makes the ambiance feel lonely and hopeless from the balloon’s view; when they start to dance, the music switched to a fast beat, positive style, it makes ambiance feel relax and brisk, they shows the feeling of two balloons without word.
