The Union were under attach and waited for back up (1st and 11th Corps).  Then Confederate back up came too.  The Confederate with a number of 30,00 soldiers defeated the Union army with a number of 20,000 soldiers.</div>]]></description>

This battle was known as the war's "turning point" and had the most casualties overall among the other battles. After 3 whole days of fighting, the Gettysburg resulted in the Union's victory led by General George Gordon Meade.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This was Day 2 of the battle of Gettysburg.&nbsp; The Union protected a range of hills and the South of Gettysburg with 90,000 soldiers, however, the Confederate wrapped around the Union with 70,000 soldiers, and heavily assaulted the left (fighting on Devil's Den, Cemetery Ridge, etc.).&nbsp; While fighting was on the left, Lee attacked on the right, east of Culp's Hill.&nbsp; They gained ground, but the Union still held position. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The battle continued on Culp's Hill with cavalry fighting on East and South.&nbsp; But the Confederate's main attack was Pickett's Charge on Cemetery Ridge.&nbsp; Yet this backfired too because the Union repulsed by artillery gunfire leading to the Confederate's drastic retreat.&nbsp; Four months later,&nbsp; Abraham said the Gettysburg Address, in honor to those who had died in the war, and to redefine the purpose of the war.</div>]]></description>
