         <description><![CDATA[<div>Sumo wrestling is the national sport of Japan. Once adored by the emperors, Its origins go back at least 1,500 years, making it the world's oldest organized sport. In its long history sumo has gone through many changes and many of the rituals that go along the sport that seem old were in fact invented in the 20th century.<br><br>The name Sumo originated from a Chinese character that means mutual bruising.  </div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The sumo wrestlers each belong to a stable. Each stable is maintained by a retired sumo wrestler. Many are selected while still in middle or high school. If their parents agree, they move away from their homes at live at the stables where they are taken care of by the stable-master's wife. They treat her as if she were their mother. Their topknot is in the shape of the leaf on a ginkgo tree.</div><div><br><strong>Clothing-</strong></div><div>A keshomawashi is an apron-like cloth that comes down to their ankles.          <description><![CDATA[<div><em>Taiho</em> is said to be the most famous wrestler of all time. He achieved the highest rank possible when he was only 21. He won 45 consecutive matches. <br><br><em>Chiyonofuji</em> was considered light on his feet by Sumo standards. What he lacked in size, he made up for in technique; his dramatic throw moves and powerful left-hand grip made him one of the most successful and wrestlers in the game.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Sumo is a Japanese style of wrestling and Japan's national sport. The rules are simple. The first wrestler who exits the ring or touches the ground with any part of his body besides the  his feet looses. Matches take place on an dohyo,. A match usually lasts only a few seconds. There are no weight restrictions or classes in sumo.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Rankings determine how much money and fame wrestlers get. No ranking is permeant and titles can be easily lost.<br>   <em>Yokozuna</em> is the highest rank in sumo. Less than 100 wrestlers have been granted the rank since 1630. <br>   The second highest rank in sumo is <em>Ozek</em>. A total of 33 wins over three tournaments almost always gets a wrestler the Ozeki rank.<br>   A total of 30 wins over the three  tournaments usually gets a wrestler a <em>Sekiwake</em> rank.<br>   <em>Komusubi</em> have achieved more wins than loses in a tournament.
