Leadership Qualities: You're a strong organizer - this comes through in the defined structure to how you want to live your life and how you structure your development goals. You're a fantastic listener and natural coach and are always thinking about others - I've felt that personally when you reached out outside of class to share a company that you think I'd be interested in based on what I shared in class.

Looking back: I related a lot to the story about your relationship with your sister. You mentioned how you learned that telling her certain things thinking it was in her best interest had some negative consequences. I had a similar experience with my brother & we are working on our relationship as well. I think over time she will see your good intentions & admire your guidance.

Looking back: I loved hearing about the impact that some of your closest family relationships have had on you. Learning about your relationship with your fiancée and how she helped you build your self-esteem and social life was something that really resonated with me. It was also awesome to then get the chance to meet her. She is lovely and such a warm person, so I can see why she has had such a positive impact on your life. I also really appreciated your ability to see your relationship with your sister so objectively and how you’ve been able to improve on it in recent years. It can be so challenging to really think about what you want your relationship with a sibling to look like, and I was inspired hearing about how you’ve been able to do just that.

Looking Back: I wanna say- wow, what a class filled with beautiful people with beautiful stories. You are matured with past experience that builds you up as a well-rounded person. And you have proven to be such a sweet person!!!

Looking back: I was impressed by your story of your fiancée – on the one hand, as you said managing relationship could be hard; on the other hand, as both of you genuinely value and cherish this relationship, she exerted amazing positive impacts on you – which was exactly something a man is blessed to have from this relationship with his true love.

I appreciated your reflection of your relationships with your parents, sister, and fiancé – how your understanding has grown over time and shaped your values and behavior. I was inspired particularly by the intentionality that you took in developing relationship with sister – as we start the post-Kellogg chapter of our lives, it is important to recognize that our relationships aren’t stagnate, we can recommit to what’s important and change.

 Leadership: 

I see you as a leader who understands and cares for each individuals’ goals and development. You help people discover their passions and see how their work fits into a bigger picture. You intentionally try new things (personally and professionally) and feel open to changing the status quo. 

Your conveyance of your relationship with your sister was especially relatable because I also have a younger sister that I am close with.  I have struggled more with strongly emphasizing my own opinion to encourage her to feel the same way – a bit different from what seems to have been your dynamic, but somewhat parallel.  That, combined with your experience with your parents’ judgement, draws a picture in which there is a lot of complication within how you think about success weigh decisions.  

You know you have the hard skills to be effective and have positioned yourself to be successful my most any measure by getting yourself into Kellogg and assuming the benefits that it brings.  I am confident that combining all of this together will allow you to help others find meaning and grow.

Looking Back Thoughts: I really enjoyed what I heard from your stories. I admired your retelling about your closeness with family and the influence that various past events and interactions with your family and loved ones have helped shape who you are as a person. I also really related to what I heard from your visions, specifically about focusing on relationships and making time to give back to your community, as well as with your goals to work towards being more confident in the future. I’m sure we will both make great strides on this in the rest of our Kellogg experience!
