As educators we should provide equal opportunities no matter the harsh social and economic realities that African American children face. This image I believe shows the innocence of a young student who may only have his dreams to look forward to, while he carries his teacher guidance and knowledge in his backpack. All of these programs differ vastly yet still take action into addressing issues. The teachers who are doing so are the ones who are trying knew things and " taking the road less traveled". It shows a group of diverse students learning together. You could only imagine the conversations they would be having sitting around this globe. This leads to more education that reading about world history. Each student comes from a different back ground, and having them face to face is the only way to truly educate a child about a different cultures. In this environment they will learn more than a text book. Some text books may not see one's history, culture or background. Another's history and culture may be distorted by text books.
