Summary-
This section of the reading mostly shows the background of herself as in how her life is going, what is happening, and the situation she is in. These first 20 pages were about the main character (Cyndy) and the situation she is in. Cyndy is a young girl who is thirteen years old and is stuck in drug rehab for kids, for 18 months. The reason is that she got caught one time when she smoked weed. She talks about how it is going and how miserable it is for her because the second time she wanted to smoke for fun she got caught and now she is living 18 months of her life in a rehab center where you can't even act like a kid anymore. These 20 pages talk about HOW she got there and what happened. So far the only thing she has talked about was her and her friend going to get weed for the first time and going to meet up with some guys to hang out and smoke it which was her friend's idea and she just tagged along. She smoked weed for the first time and later she went into one of the guy's bedrooms to sleep and basically got raped. She wasn't capable of controlling herself because she was high and just tired until one of the guys took advantage of her.

Topic: This section of the book connects to the topic of betrayal. I say this because when Cyndy was hanging out with the guys outside she got to be cool with one of them but later he betrayed her and became a sick gross boy who wanted to take advantage of her.

Summary= So far the book states that Cyndys father died when she was younger and he was 30 years older than her mother and had three pervious marriages before the mothers. The father was famouse and made lots of money but when he died this left Cyndys mother in the dust and he mother wasnt on a stable track. Poor, Toxic household growing up lead to Cyndy hanging out with the worng people, in the wrong area at the wrong time. Back to where we were, Cyndy espacaped from Daw's house that morning and was heading back home then to go back to Bridgeport. When Cyndy is home she is moody and argued with her moms new boyfriend  and he abused her. The mother wasnt defending Cyndy but then she calls the cops on Cyndy! Dawn comes into the house to help Cyndy escape from the cops because Cyndy didnt do anything. They arrive to Brigeport back at Dawns house and they are gonna get some rest for school the next day.

Topics: I say this topic is survival. Not survival in a literal term but survival in a way where you have to keep passing difficult obsticles to keep going. Cyndy has been accused of running away and wasnt being defended when her mothers boyfriend beat her up. Cydney didn't want to go home after she found out that her mom wasn't defending her and she was defending her spouse (Cyndy's stepdad) and Cyndy wasn't having it. Until finally at school, Cyndy found out that her mom called the school and said she was "missing" and that she wanted to have her back. So far Cyndy is still finishing out her school day after also cussing out a girl that was talking smack on her best friend Joanna. Cyndy wasn't in the mood and the girl just set her off.

Topic: To me the topic of this part of my reading is guilt. the reason I say this is because after Cyndy got in an argument with her stepdad and the mom was on his side Cyndy didn't want to go home and her mom was mad. Recently Cyndy has been struggling to find a home that she likes and enjoys staying at. Cyndy has been house hopping between her friend's houses and debating on a forever home for the majority of the rest of her life. Later after the police find out that Cyndy isn't living with her mom, the author starts explaining how she gets out of this tough debate of where to stay. Cyndy decide she wants to go into foster care but little did she know her father's half-sister supported her decision and wanted to find a home that had a healthy environment and was good for her to grow up in. It turns out her new home is home to a boarding school in Virginia. This is a rough patch in Cyndy's life because she needs to find a way to stay in touch with her friends and the people she loves.

Topic: Grief. I say grief because Cyndy is on the struggle bus and is overwhelmed with what the rest of her life will look like. Cyndy is sad and had a feeling of sorrow but she also is happy for her new beginning. Cyndy doesn't want to leave her friends because that brings her sadness but at the same time she wants to be somewhere she can live for the rest of her life while still being able to visit as much as she can. Personally, I understand this feeling because I have had friends who moved away for the better whether it's their home life, or whether it's just for one of their parent's work. This article explains the different standpoints or opinions of people who are choosing whether to vaccine their children (between 5-11). Polls show that majority are not willing to vaccine their children at this young age for various reasons. Reason number one, their child may experience serious side effects from the vaccine (77% of the poll). And reason two, the vaccine may negatively impact their child's fertility in the future (66% of people from the poll).

Topics: To me, this article connects to the topic, battle. I think of battle for this because obviously, the polls show the different sides of different peoples' perspectives, and on both sides, there are strong opinions and reasons on why or why not all ages should/should not get the vaccine. It is hard to believe the chances of this happening these days, but Strickland was the one with the short end of the stick. Strickland was convicted by a jury in a 1978 triple murder. It was his second jury trial, as the first ended in a mistrial.

Topics: Loyalty. I say this because in situations like these the only thing you can do is be honest and loyal to yourself. I think of it like this because a lot of o people in jail when they do something wrong they wouldn't fight they would just feel grief for the rest of their lives and feel no purpose. Leading on, a lot of people in jail can end up committing suicide after regretting what they have done but not Kevin Strickland because he tried his best for standing up for what he KNOWS he did and for what HE KNOWS he did not do.

The readinf that I read from this article shows me how gun violence has been affecting our people of our community negatively and the people need to work to be better to help solve cases. 

Topics: The topic of this article is violence. I say this because this article covers the death tolls of the amount of people that have been killed from guns in a short matter of time and the big topic overall supports that violence is not a good thing and that it needs to be stopped.

Summary: The damage from the huge storm that had 60-80 mile per hour winds caused plenty of people around Missouri and Kansas' power to go out. This article shows a family whose neighborhood power pole was struck by lightning. This left sparks flying and cut power lines from homes which led to corporations like Evergy working to fix these power lines and bring back power to these homes. Trees fell from the terrible weather but little did they know if one of the trees fell a different way their whole house could have been destroyed and maybe them too...

Topics: The topics for this article would be tragic and scary because some people's lives were at risk even if they stepped foot out of the house. The winds caused things to blow over and even caused warnings for tornados!! This storm left people worried about their loved ones, worried about their own families, worried about any upcoming tornados, and overall a tragic experience for all.

It sounds crazy but in the real world everyone and the people on the families of the plane think that the plane left for vacation and simply was just coming back, but in reality, the plane left for FIVE WHOLE YEARS and everybody in the plane was pronounced dead until all of a sudden the plane landed safely back to the airport.... the people on the plane had no clue what happened and they just thought they experienced their nice week-long vacation then came home. But that wasn't the case. 

Topics: This show connects to the topic, identity. I say the topic is identity because the poeple that were on this mysterious plane for five years didnt know that they were on the plane for so long. Squid game is directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. This show incorporated a group of people that all got sent to a real-life video game to win loads of cash to make up for the huge amount of debt. The debt was from gambling so all they could do was take the chance but little did they know, the money giveaway was only to go to one person in the end and all the rest will not make it out alive...

Topics: The topic of this show to me would be jealousy. I say this because throughout the show the people became what they thought would be called 'friends' with each other for a while until the game made them make a choice o if they would want to stay friends and die or lose their friend and win. Almost every single person got jealous of another person for doing something good like finishing the challenge before the other or simply just getting the easier route. Overall this movie was AMAZING. It was about an exploration of breeding big cats that are encapsulated like a zoo. It focuses on the small but deeply interconnected society of big cat guardians and caretakers such as Carole Baskin, owner of Big Cat Rescue, and collectors such as Exotic, whom Carol Baskin accuses of abusing and making the most out of wild animals.

Topics: The topic of this show would be freedom. This may seem odd but I say freedom because the big cats that are being held and enslaved are meant to be in the wild to keep the food chain and environment stable to continue cycling throughout the ecosystem. These big cats need FREEDOM from humanity and zookeepers because they are on this planet to live in the wild with the other species of animals so that they can reproduce and live their lives as free animals. If we are free and have freedom, so should they.

Summary- The bee Movie is a very old movie but I enjoyed it a lot because it was the first time I have watched it. Overall the movie is about the lfie of bees and how they live their daily lives. Believe it or not, the bees in this movie go to 2 days of middle school, 2 days of high school and 2 days of college. After that the bees will through schooling, they will start their lifelong career which has anything to do with making/producing honey. The bees have this huge manufacturing area where all the worker bees work. No day off, the bees enjoy it, and life is simply for them. But after a while the conflict between the bees and humans is when Barry (main charcter bee) discovers that humans are skimming the bees' honey, and takes the human race to court which sets off a huge fear to all the bees.

Topics: Problem Solving, making relationships. I say this because throughout the movie the main charcter (Barry) is curious of the life of humans and if they are considered evil. The bees are all threatened by all humans but Barry doesnt believe it unless he proves it. He meets a lady who is super nice and doesnt try to kill or harm him. Barry tries to convince the other bees that humans are not bad and tries to problem solve to make a solution in the end that not all humans are bad.
