At the same time, and across Europe, the knowledge about and understanding of youth policy needs more dissemination, so that the know-how reaches a diverse audience, from policy makers, to youth field practitioners, to young people, researchers and other profiles interested in youth. 
 
To respond to this need, in 2017, the EU-Council of Europe Youth Partnership developed a MOOC on youth policy essentials. The first edition raised a remarkable interest (over 1800 participants enrolled, over 200 participants obtaining the course certificate). In 2018, a second edition was developed and run, an in 2019 the 3rd edition, with the specific aim of putting to profit recent publications produced by the EU – Council of Europe Youth Partnership (Insights, Youth Research Essentials), and also introducing the new programmes and strategies of the two partner institutions.  
 
The 4th edition of the MOOC on youth policy will contribute to the implementation of youth strategies of both partner institutions, respectively, and promote the principles of youth policy as included in the programmes of the Council of Europe and of the European Commission. Links will be also made with the project Perspectives on youth, as well as to the work on monitoring and evaluation of youth policy.

  • enhanced capacity of the youth policy field actors to network and be associated to the work of the two partner institutions;
  • connecting information about the European institutions and their work in the youth policy field with a wide audience.
