         <description><![CDATA[<div>What is Uses and Gratifications Theory </div><div>'The Model' </div><div>It suggest that the gratification theory has to fulfill a certain form of media:</div><div>Identify</div><div>- Being able to recognise the product or person in front of you, role models that reflect similar values to yours, aspiration to be someone else.</div><div>Educate - Being able to acquire information, knowledge and understanding</div><div><br>Entertain - What you are consuming should give you enjoyment and also some form of escapism enabling us to forget our worries temporarily. <br><br>Social Interaction - The ability for media products to produce a topic of conversation between other people which could potentially spark a debate. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Uses and Gratifications Theory </strong></div><div>Criticism's </div><div>Many people have criticized as they believe the public has no control over the media and what it produces. It is also deemed that they do not take responsibility for the media they produce. </div><div>Many consumers are free to decide how they will use the media and how it will effect them.</div><div>Further Information </div><div>The theory can be seen in cases such as an audiences personal music selection. It is deemed that we select music not only on a particular mood but also to present empowerment or to fill different environments. Due to the massively wide range of genres and music it gives people a large choice when there trying to suit a particular situation. </div><div>The understanding of why and how people actively seek out specific needs. UGT is an audience - centered approach to understanding mass communication.</div>]]></description>
