Too much politics in the church or too much church in politics- Gado

Thank you, Tamira, for the IO. You have made a good attempt at the task. However, I would like you to take the following feedback to enhance the quality of your IO. Read the comments then record an improved version of your IO which I will grade.
1. The artist is not Kenyan, even though he lives in Kenya. Find out where he comes from and briefly explain his characteristic subject- in other words, what subject does his cartoons address generally? How does this particular cartoon fit in with his signature subject? When you do that you will have situated the text accurately in its context. That will be good for your IO. It shows your knowledge of the text and the author.
2. You have identified politics as the global issue, but what is it about politics that is an issue? You must engage with this and show how issue affect people/communities.
3. Message: You say in your IO that the cartoon brings out the message, but you have not identified the message. What is the message? It can't be politics, but it must be the effect of politics on the people and what how the artists invites the audience to react. So fix this and use it to control your analysis. The message is your thesis. The rest of your presentation should focus on how the message is relayed.
4. Do more with the images and objects in the cartoon by analyzing the effect they have on your interpretation. Church could mean people, organisation or building, so be very specific when you use the word church.
5. Ethical appeal - this did not convince me. Find out what the words mean before you use them.
6. What do you mean that the church is a victim of politics?
Review your response and submit for more feedback and grading.
2.

I feel as though the play ended quite abruptly and with a lot of drama in the last act which was a lot to take in at once. The conflicts were not resolved as Gathoni was still left unmarried and its unclear what happened to her baby, Kiguunda and his wife are left poor and its unclear what will happen to them , and Kiois family is not mentioned again. However the authors message has been brought out clearly ( that the government system and social status system is unjust and unfair), it leaves the audience reflecting and taking into account their own lives. I don't like that there is so many questions left unanswered but there is always questions left unanswered in literary texts, I like how Ngugi included alot of drama towards the end it was exciting and intruiging [What do you think Ngugi invites the audience to do, based on the way he ends the play?
