Assalamualaikum and hi everyone. For this week we still discuss about the virtual microbe and the plan for visiting the yakult. This week my team and I already prepared a mind map about Introduction to Microbial Systematic. In the class Dr. Wan explain what is the microbial systematic and the Whittaker’s Five-kingdom System. We also learn Kingdom Monera, about the gram negative bacteria cell wall. It has multilayered cell wall with a thin layer of peptidoglycan in between cytoplasmic membrane and outer membrane of cell wall while gram positive bacteria cell wall has a thick layer of peptidoglycan. Gram positive bacteria also has pliable and no definite shape for E.g. mycoplasmas. The traits used to Classify Bacteria Cell is based on the type ( whether it is prokaryotes or eukaryotes),Morphology, Metabolism and Reproduction are to classify the genera and species.Phage typing Nucleic acid profile and Antibiotic resistance profile are used to determine the species and strains. For the cell morphology, the important features are the cell wall type, gram stain reaction, shape, size, grouping and the presence of endospore. For metabolism, it is the processes to obtain energy and convert energy into usable form. The important features are enzymes, metabolized sugars, metabolized amino acids, intermediates, fermentation end products and photosynthesis.

That all from me for this week.
