- It is getting very crowded in the malls on weekends, frustrating to wait for a parking lot, queue to try on clothes, long snaking lines at the cashiers, etc.

1) Online Shopping
- You must know that this is "new" in our/your generation! Your family may not do this, but at least show the examiner that you know this option is now available and so much more convenient (and cheap).

2) We buy MORE than we need
- Typical of affluent societies where waste is high!

3) The rise of the suburban malls in Sg
- So many malls have sprung up in the neighbourhoods!
- Many of us also shop at the hypermart (e.g. Fair Price Xtra) today, which is uncommon in the past.

My family used to go out to the nearest shopping malls to get items that we need at home while trying to save up money. However, they are most exposed to the trend which is onlins shopping. My mum and brothers are using applications like 'Carousell' and 'Amazon' to get items easily with just their phone. This allows us to get what we want within few days without the trouble to travel over to a mall to get it. It is also cheaper to get some items online too therefore they prefer buying things online than going out to buy it .

I personally think that most of the things we get is are useless. With the frequent usage of the online applications to get the things we want , it will make us more addicted to online shopping and comfortable in purchasing things that we like online and not what we need.

I personally like shopping in shopping malls due to many reasons like the place is with aircon or there is a wide variety of items that we can buy. However i prefer shopping at stores that are outside more. We can find different types of culture outside instead of inside the shopping malls. There are places like chinatown,little india, haji ~~land~~ Lane that ~~has~~ have their own culture. They sell things that are very unique and cheap at the same time. This is mostly always found at outside shops than shopping malls. For example we can find more chinese food at chinatown or we can find indian clothes at little india itself easily.

I personally like going to shopping malls as due to the extreme weathers in Singapore. I would prefer a place that is air-conditioned than to road side stalls, not to mention shopping malls have a wide variety of items that ~~could~~ can be bought. Most items sold in shopping malls are usually trendy items , branded items and household necessities, which are mostly found in shopping malls located at the basement. The shopping malls are also much cleaner and more hygienic. Therefore especially like us youngsters we would prefer going to shopping malls than to stalls at china town or little india.

In Due to advancement of technology, people of all ages are more into online shopping. especially like my family. It all started from my younger sister who influenced my mum to ~~online~~ shop online as well. Although online shopping is one of the latest trends nowadays as the items that are sold are cheap and we would be able to get items without going around, ~~however~~ i take a different view on online shopping, as i do not really trust the seller because i am not able to feel and see how the conditions of the items are before purchasing them. Hence i don't really like online shopping unless there are things that i ~~would~~ want which are not available in Singapore yet.

My idea of shopping range from a few varieties, for example, shopping for groceries, stationery, toiletries, clothes or beauty products. I enjoy shopping in a shopping mall that has retail shops or supermarkets i would often visit if i were to shop at a mall I frequent such as H&M , Fairprice and Watson's. Visiting shopping malls that are aesthetically pleasing is another reason why I would enjoy shopping. If I were to shop at a place with shops that I would visit often frequent, yet looks dull, I would not be looking forward to visit the place again. However, it is also enjoyable to shop at places with tradition and heritage as it helps me learn a few more facts about other religions and cultures. I enjoy shopping at shopping malls as it is also a form of leisure activity to spend time, I can do window shopping when I am tight in cash. However as the number of online shops has increased, I would rather shop online than shopping in a shopping mall. It is more convenient and efficient, while I am on the way home I can simply use my phone and go to any shopping applications to shop for clothes, furnitures or beauty products, which may cost cheaper than in shops. The items we buy online can be delivered directly to our doorstep compared to having to bring items back home from shopping malls which is more convinent convenient.

i personally think that much shopping is unnecessary as to in my perspective i am a guy who is more into saving money for any future emergencies and future education. Hence i do not find shopping much of a necessity other than getting new clothes on new year's eve each year. And i find that we should buy things that we need rather than what we want , although to buy things once in a while is fine however i find that wasting all this hard earned money on too much of unnecessary items just doesn't feel right.
