Physics reflective study 28/8/17

Today in class we had continued our study on the chapter “measurements and uncertainties” we had learned in detail about the topic uncertainties. Basically, can be put into words as a measurement can never be 100% accurate, it’s close to 100%, as in 99%, the remaining 1 % can be known as its uncertainty measure. Then we had conducted a class assignment of a presentation on the topic “Significant figures”. I had teamed up with our class teacher for the presentation. The teacher gave me an idea to do the presentation on an Important asset of significant figures, Zeros. I had made a five-point presentation about the importance of zeroes, and how to calculate the significant figures. After everyone’s presentation, our teacher had assigned a homework to write a reflective study on today’s class and dismissed the class. Overall was a good interactive session with everyone and I had a great time listening to everyone’s presentation

- always write your answers in significant figures according to the rules of significant figures.
- we used scientific notation when there are a lot of zeros for eg: 300000000 will be written as 3.00 *10^6 kg.
- a number rounded to its nearest power of 10 is order of magnitude. for eg idk
- estimation is used to estimate a value to its nearest 10 or 100. It is like finding order of magnitude but more precise as not to nearest 10./
