So much goes into diagnosing Autism. Knowledge is continually changing. There are new studies and new findings each year. I recognized multiple "dianosis'" that were given that aren't used anymore. One thing that I learned was that students' diagnosis can change and the nature of autism can change as well. We learned more about the regression of autism. One professional mentioned that the regression of autism vs. onset-autism may come from a different gene that is affected. I wonder if this really is true. To me it seems that autism is such a wide spectrum that I wonder if it really is the same gene that is being affected or even if it is the same diagnosis all over. It makes sense because there are similarities in all students with autism, but it makes me wonder if there is a difference between each different case of autism? What is that difference if there is one. This video definitely got my brain questioning autism and it makes me wonder what more could we find out about autism? What more will we find out? I should ask.
