It is based on the idea of supply and demand, allowing private ownership, competition, and little to no government control.

This, combined with the rise of entrepreneurs, significantly boosted the American economy. Without government control, companies try to compete, driving costs down, therefore making the market more efficent.

The market revolution is a term developed by historians to describe the change in economic systems from preindustrial subsistence economies to a society made for marketing. Goods were able to be traded across great distances to reach larger markets, before then, it was completely local. Technological breakthroughs and transportation during this transition affected society beautifully with turnpikes, steamboats, canals, and railroads. People, alongside raw materials and various other goods, could travel farther, faster, and more efficiently. Communication was also different, including the telegraph and more newspapers. As this interconnectedness advanced over time, a national infrastructure and finances going towards new roads, bridges, canals, and more were available to use for transportation, also offered the creation of state-chartered banks.
