In the 70's typewriters were the most common way to write.This was before the computer, and my mom continuously complained about how annoying it was to use correction tape if you made a typo. The typewriter was also very bulky and loud.

Rather than the pull down projectors we have in classrooms now, in the 70's we saw a Kodak slide projector. A set of slides was often organized in a specific sequence and stored in a carousel tray. The tray was then carefully placed on top of the projector. The projector was placed on a sturdy table or cart at a distance from the screen or blank wall. The slides usually were manually switched or set to a timer. My mom said while this was a hassle she enjoyed seeing visuals of what she was learning.

In the 90's computers became a thing of regular usage. Mostly in the lab setting, usually with a bulky desktop and CRT monitors. My aunt said she started using these when she was in college and would typically go to school libraries to access them. This made things a LOT easier then using typewriters, and also allowed for people to gain typing and computer skills.

Both my mom and aunt had mentioned the game Oregon Trail as a iconic staple at the time. It became popularized in the 80-90's. It was a game that allowed development of decision making and problem solving. Players also learned about the hardships faced by pioneers and the geography of the United States. This is a game that was ahead of it's time and made a big impact on technology.

For those born in the year 2000, a lot of changes were to come. Chalkboards where most commonly used in school for a long time. Come the 2000's whiteboards and smartboards came to replace the use of chalkboards. My cousin enjoyed the introduction of smart boards because smart boards because they made lessons feel more engaging because you could watch videos or interact with the board during class.

When my cousin was in highschool (2015), a lot of classrooms had their own laptops for student use. She expressed the usage of google apps such as google docs, and presentations to become more common. Fun educational tools became more popular with online games such as Kahoot! My cousin said using these laptops made things very convenient and enjoyed using this technology in school.
