Although his competitors such as Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, and Oscar de la Renta decided against a runway show this year, Wu saw this as an amazing opportunity. In a way, this allowed for his show and only his show to receive more attention. The governor, Andrew Cuomo, allowed for an outdoor show with 50 guests maximum. "After sitting for hair and makeup — the hair stylists wore masks, but the makeup artists wore face shields — the models moved to their large shared dressing room, where their outfits hung on individual racks sandwiched between thick plexiglass panels. During rehearsal, they wore masks, though they needed to be reminded to spread out" (Testa, New York Times). As for the 36 guests who attended Wu's show, they were to fill out a health questionnaire on their phones before having their temperatures taken. It is unclear, however many designers are moving towards online shows where they offer videos and look-books of their collection. The past fashion weeks in New York, Paris, Milan, and London consisted of both virtual shows as well as traditional, in-person runways. Possibilites are endless for the future of the pandemic, always depending on the current status of the covid cases and the location of the shows. Face masks may be a reoccurring theme for the guests invited to the shows, with everyone backstage other than the models wearing coverings as well. Limitations on the amount of people and the location of the show may also effect the future of fashion shows.
