In general, would your family be classified as formal or informal?

My family would be considered more informal. This is because we are very laid back and are all on very different schedules between work, school, activities, etc. Also, we tend to eat at different times of the day, at the dinner table or sometimes just on the couch while watching our favorite Netflix shows. With this being said, we all love and agree on our level of informality and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Who or what were the subjects of jokes?

As far as jokes go, we tend to all joke about each other. We have fun teasing each other and laughing together over some funny memories that we share. In addition to this, we like to joke about my dog quite often. He has a pretty big personality with tons of funny quirks about him that my family adores and laughs at. For example, my dog will not drink out of his water bowl if he sees even the tinniest spec of dirt inside it. So, he will bark at us until we refresh his bowl to his liking. Also, he won’t eat his bowls of food that we make him until we top it with something special such as cheese or crumbled up treats.

Who made the major decisions in your family?

In my family, the major decisions were made by both my parents together. Whenever there are important matters to discuss, the two of them do a great job at working together to find a solution that best supports the family. In addition to this, my parents have done a great job at including us kids in certain decisions where our input is important.

Was competition or cooperation stressed?

Throughout my life, my parents always taught us how to be team players and to always be the hardest worker in the room. They expressed the importance of dedication and working with others to achieve our goals. Whenever competition was discussed, it was always in a friendly and healthy way. Especially since my twin sister and I did competitive dance for our whole lives. My parents made sure that we understood sportsmanship and the value of being a supportive team member.

How were you rewarded?

My parents always rewarded us by taking us to do fun activities. Growing up, my siblings and I loved going out shopping, playing board games and video games, watching shows and movies together, getting treats, etc. My parents always gave us compliments for good behavior as well and I am so grateful to them for teaching us manners and how to treat people how we would like to be treated.
