I’m still choosing to believe this is all a prank and you’re going to pop up after Diwali like, “I am back”. But on the off chance that you’re serious about leaving, I guess it’s time to put my denial aside (for this message).

From our endless discussions on travel fatigue and sickness to those impromptu "productivity" chats that were actually 90% gossip, it’s been a pleasure knowing you. You were my first formally assigned buddy at CEGIS, and I am so grateful for that -- couldn't have asked for a better buddy for "it's confidential" sessions. My funniest memory with you is sharing crazy email signatures that we hope to use formally one day and not get fired. I know you will always do this, but please keep the comic inside you alive who strives to laugh even when times get tough.

On the serious side, I think you’re not just brilliant at what you do; you’re one of those rare people who make everyone around them a little better, just by being yourself. Whether it’s your knack for asking thought-provoking questions, or the way you manage to stay calm in the chaos (even if you’re quietly screaming on the inside), those are things you should absolutely keep doing.

Just don’t think you’re escaping that easily; I’ll still be expecting your random messages, memes, and occasional updates on how you’re doing. I will miss you, and wish we could have worked together but hopefully sometime in the future. Wishing you lots of happiness and travel without fatigue :)
