Same-sex marriage is no different than a homosexual marriage. Homosexuals love their significant others so much they want to marry them and spend the rest of their life together. Same-sex marriage love there significant other just as much a homosexual couple would love there significant other but can't get married. 

There are more Americans that favor same-sex couples to marry legally than there are that do not favor same-sex to marry legally.“The center's survey found that 62 percent of Americans favor allowing gays and lesbians to marry legally, while 32 percent are opposed to the unions.”(Milligan) America is being more accepting of the LGBTQ community.

More and more religions seem to be more accepting of same-sex marriage. The Pew Research Center say that“Two-thirds of Catholics now support same-sex marriage…” If gay marriage was legal it would be more accepted by different religions. 

Even though they have different sexual preferences the love is still and is the same as any other marriage. “They felt their love was legitimized. Their relationships were equal. These are not people who want to chip away at the tradition of marriage.”(Navarro) Same-sew couples just want to be equal.

Household income of same-sex married couples is higher than that of heterosexual married couples.The New York Times article says “Most of that is driven by the average earnings of male same-sex couples: $176,000. On average, they make $52,000 more than married lesbian couples and $63,000 more than married straight couples.” A heterosexual married couple makes less but that just means that a same-sex married couple works harder than a heterosexual married couple.

Most Americans are accepting of same-sex marriage but there are no laws for same-sex marriage.Same-sex marriage is no different than a homosexual marriage. Both heterosexual and same-sex couples love there significant other the same.

Same-sex couples want the same things as a homosexual couple. In a relationship there are steps you do if you love your significant other you purpose, you get married, and you spend the rest of your guys life together. Same-sex couples have to skip a step that is the most important part to signify their relationship.

Gay marriage should not be allowed because it will inspire others to fight to be with the people they love even if it is a relative, an animal, or a group of people. People in the LGBTQ community still face backlash for being themselves. According to The New York Times, “For decades, we have known that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals experience a range of social, economic and health differences it is often the result of culture, laws, and policies that treat them as lesser any other human being.”. The community would not be treated this way if they were in a traditional marriage. Gay marriage is legal in some states, but to this day people still do not accept them, so why would they accept other strange relationships determined to have the right to be married. 

Same-sex marriage will not only motivate people, but it will also cause a slippery slope of other unnatural relationships. In an article by BBC News it states that a judge let a Utha woman legally marry her long-term deceased partner 3 months after she had died. This sounds like a sweet moment shared, but it is odd and it is even more rare that it is a same-sex couple. Although the couple had a real bond according to their attorney and long time friend, Robert Hoole, nobody gets married to a partner who is dead it is just not normal. 

LGBTQ activists and supporters will say that the love shared in a same-sex marriage is the same as the love in a straight marriage there is no difference. In the U.S. News article, the non-issue of gay marriage mentions that “ The center's survey found that 62 percent of Americans favor allowing gays to marry legally, while 32 percent are opposed to the unions,”. Because same-sex marriage has made an enormous advance, it gives the others hope that they will have the same amount of luck and get legalize as well. 

Gay marriage is a sensitive topic, but it needs to become illegal in order to stop intolerant relationships from happening.
 

Now is the time for  people start seeing the cons of gay marriage being legal.
