Elle est sortie en 1986, quatre ans avant la libération de Mandela, sur l’album Voleur de feu. Lavilliers y fait l’éloge de la poésie, et présente la musique comme un cri de révolte universel.
La version proposée est une reprise de Souad Massi et Ismaël Lô sortie en 2001.
