The National Assembly was a 2nd attempt at a government by basing the voting system off of population. They wished to create a constitution, and the upper estates would not have liked this due to their power being limited, and being outnumbered in voting.

The tennis court oath occured in a tennis court inside the palace of Versailles, after the national Assembly was locked out of the palace of Versailles after attempting to hold a meeting with the 2nd and 1st estates. The oath was issued by member of the national Assembly after they were locked out from the palace of versailles. The oath stated that they should not disband until they had achieved a constitution. The king's response was that he jailed the assemblymen at the Bastille for trespassing. This would anger the people of France and eventually lead to the storming of the Bastille.

The people of France marched on the palace of Versailles, as they were angry over the prices of bread and wanted the King and Queen to answer for their actions. This is justifiable as the people of France were angry how their monarchs were living and treating them.

The legislative government wanted to operate by working with King Louis XVI and functioned like a constitutional monarchy. This failed due to there being poor leadership and France had never had a government without a monarch before.

The first Republic's goal was to be "for the people" and was led by a man called Robespierre. The reign of terror was led by Robespierre, against anyone who spoke out against him and the republic and attempted to bring back the monarchy. The reign of terror would eventually end when Robespierre was executed for abusing his power. After his execution, France would see the leadership of Napolean.

Napolean would first come to power when he overthrew the first republic. The political changes he would impose would be stating the Napoleonic codes, eliminating the estates system, allowing freedom of religion, bettering education, restoring a centralized government in France, improving relations with the pope, and selling the territory of Louisiana to the U.S. These changes would impact France, as there was a form of stability in both the government and social classes. it would also lead to the supremacy of the French army in Europe, under Napolean's rule/command.

Napolean's legacy that he left behind was that he would inspire later monarchs and leaders, he would also bring temporary peace and unity in most of Europe. Napolean would eventually be banished to an island, nut would eventually escape and attempt to regain power but would be defeated at the battle of Waterloo. After his defeat at Waterloo, he would be exiled again to another island and eventually die there.
