My name is King James I and I was the first puritan king after the greatest queen elizabeth. I was the first English king to translate the bible into English and we called it the King James Bible. I was honored to be a part of the founding of Jamestown; a prominent settlement in the newly acquired lands of America.

Charles I (1625-1649)

I am King Charles I. I was the king after the great James I. I believe in the divine right of kings. My feud with the parliament led to me dissolving the governed body multiple times without their permission. This quickly escalated and resulted in the English Civil war. I had a group of forces called the Royalists.

Oliver Cromwell (1649-1658)

I am the great Oliver Cromwell. I emerged as a military leader during the English Civil War. I am a puritan Army General and was crowned the Lord Protector. I also abolished the monarchy and established the Commonwealth. I was the leader of the conquest of Ireland and Scotland. I had a vision of the puritanical society to purify the practice and structure of the church.

Charles II (1658-1685)

I am Charles II. I had a rough time during the Cromwell rule. I was exiled to France by Cromwell because I posed a threat to the throne. During my rein, the black plague was resurged. I sought to heal the wounds left by the civil war pursuing a policy of religious tolerance.

I am James II, the Roman Catholic brother of Charles II. I faced a lot of challenges regarding religion. I was overthrown peacefully. I solidifed the constitutional monarchy. Also, I laid the foundation for the Engllish Bill of Rights that limited the powers of the monarch.

William & Mary (1688-1702)

I am King William. I ruled jointly with Mary as a protestant alternative. We began the constitutional monarchy in England by agreeing to govern in accordance with the laws and decision of Parliament. We also passed the English bill of rights in 1689 which officially limited the monarchy.
