1. Teaching in the classroom for my past class at the campus school was a time where I had to actively manipulate my environment in order to learn what I need to do to get better at teaching. A lot of times we would have object lessons we would have to create for the students to participate in.
2. Another example of meaningful learning that is a daily occurrence for me is at work. I work in the recreation department at my local church and my whole work experience is an environment that I get to be apart of and manipulate in order to be an effective employee and a better teacher. I have experiences that I excel at and experiences that I do not do so well in that I can correct in the future.

1. Because university of Memphis is completely online this semester, there is very little field experience that can take place due to COVID-19. Therefore, discussion posts are a great tool for professors to use when introducing learning. In most of my classes I have had to do some sort of discussion in my class. Most of the time it is not just a simple yes or no question. it is something that makes you use your brain and think. It could give a scenario where you would put yourself in the situation and say how you would react. Or it could give you a topic to talk about and expound upon.
2. Another example of this would be when you have a debate. In my speech class a few semesters ago one of our assignments was to debate a hot button issue. In those kind of situations you may have preconceived notions about the topic but a lot of the time you are asked to argue the opposing side. This is where problem solving comes in and I can try to build a argument for the debate.

1. In one of my classes with Dr. Bray we were asked to create and deliver a lesson for PE. the difference of how we did it and how it is normally done is that we had to do it in groups of 3 or 4. We had to cooperate in order to complete the task. We had to pick a sport and use technology to teach the kids the sport we were given.
2. Another example of this is at work a coworker and I had to design and implement a curriculum for recreation for a under reached community here in Memphis. We had to decide things like what kinds of things we would teach and take into account what needs these students had. An example of a solution to one of the problems we ran into was that because of COVID-19 we had difficulty finding activities that we could do with the kids that were socially distant. We ended up deciding to do a soccer clinic because we knew for the most part that the student would not be touching each other only there own soccer balls. They would also only be using there feet not their hands.

1. this example of meaningful learning has been used on numerous occasions. The first example being in my class Psychosocial Aspect of sport. this class is not the basic principles of coaching nor is it a class on effective lesson planning. It is about the psychological and social effects of sport on athletes. This class has relatively complex idea that need to be understood and implemented. This is something that cannot be taught just by talking about it which is why there are in a normal situation some clinical aspects to it.
2. Another example of this is in a class that I took from Dr. Yuhua Li. this class is similar to the above mentioned class but the theories and ideas are even more complex. which is why labs are a requirement of the course.

1. I think that the biggest example of this is learning objectives. these are goals that teachers provide for learners and for the teachers themselves to meet in order to effectively educate students.
2. Another example of this is in a class I took last semester when we learned the business side of interviewing for a job we want the goal of the class was to have a dinner at the end of the semester that culminated all the skills we learned to be an effective interviewee.
