This relates to business as univeristys are businesses that depend on student tuiton fees for funding, but the questio raised is does it produce a more productive and skilled workforce. Employers are aways looking for more qualified and productive workers and have an eye for skills such as comunication, listening to insturctions and resorucefulness. I learnt this during my personal devolopement plan.

this relates to 21 century as in the past there werent univeristy fees meaning more people went to univeristy. The rasing of further education tution fees has been a widely discussed subject that effects modern day univeristy students. Resulting in less people are going to univeristy meaning theres a less qualifed work force however is this really the case as debated by Miller et al (2012).

However this article discusses students lack organisation, communication and mangement skills.

This article claims that univeristys do not focus on employabilty, saying that the students graduate with no emoloynent skills. Which is completely false as alot of univeristys focus their modules on employabilty. Focusing on team work and emoloyabilty, and personal devolopmemt skills.

I wanted to see if there was goverment statistics showing a decline in univeristy students, and came across the labour force servey which taught me that there is a decline in students. I wanted to understand why people are choising to opt out of univeristy and came across johnstone (2004) who discusses the introduction of tution fees and this has effected the amount of students in univeristy. I learnt about the introduction of tution fees and the reason why they were introduced. As a way to fund further education, without leaving further burden on tax payers. Clarke (2012) discusses how less students attending impacts univeristy funding so they have to find alternative ways to attract new students.
