  • Use spaces where you expect something to happen and make something unexpected there - eg. use a garden for conference.
  • but a space already gives you a specific setting which should be considered when developing something unexpected, or better „leave the unexpected happen” eg. let it rain!
  • Liberty to do what you feel like the mind is the space for the unexpected to happen. 
  • Connection with others in a space is important. 
  • People are meeting and where they meet you „produce culture”. Culture can create spaces for people to encounter/meet. 
  • The people and very specific environment interact and influence each other . Its about energy. 
  • How do we initiate the process to create spaces for the unexpected. How to support the idea of culture freeing resources/ no contamination of political, commercial forces/purposes. 
  • How to reach people who do not think about arts and culture? 
  • We need „neutral spaces” to create unexpected but also spaces that are loaded with „heavy” meanings should not be excluded. 
   # how to trigger the unexpected  in space where meanings + „mental settings” already preexists? eg. churches, art galleries? 
  • The content is crucial for creating the unexpected 
  • The context is important to make the unexpected be perceived as such.
  • examples of triggering the unexpected > use artists in laundry spaces, food centers
  • centers are spaces for unexpected but for rural areas you need to decentralize them.
  • Which are the formats + instruments in the rural areas that can enforce the unexpected 
     > programs, projects, art forms eg. TRASFO (its about creating OPEN SPACES and let people do what we did not expect.
  • Example of unexpected > performance of actors sleeping and not waking up > unexpected reaction of participation. Everyone was triggered to find ways  to wake them up.. „we-do-nothig-week”. 
  • Spaces are always connected to tower structures. Spaces are shaped by institutions. 
  • Space as a laboratories for cultural evolution by building up on historical elements. 
  • everyone has inside a space for the unexpected to develop.
  • You can't plan the unexpected! Its about ongoing process and very subjective. 
  • Find ways to facilitate process where unexpected things/processes can happen.

Audience becomes at the same time producers and co-creators; use live streaming, 3d recording of i.e. several art forms and creating new ones.
Rethink traditions in rural areas. Old forms connect with new elements without forgetting the roots.
We need to create new narrative and new creativity.
