When do I pay school expenses? Northbay1 https://padlet.com/Northbay1/gkknvof9cqw568ni/wish/2175940935 The Department of Education has given a school books grant to alleviate back to school costs for families for the school year 2026-2027. The year it is €80 per child, which will be used to purchase school books, for book rental, online subscriptions and copies. These school supplies will be ordered by the school and given to the children when they return to school in September. The grant does not cover stationary, art supplies, insurance, Aladdin or Educate Together membership and will not fully cover photocopying costs but we are very aware of the financial pressures families are under and will always do our best to keep costs as low as possible.  Last year the school asked families to pay €95 per child to cover these expenses and we will be asking for the same amount this year. This payment will be set up through Aladdin. If you have any concern about this payment or any future payments that may come up please contact Eimear in complete confidence.

Children are not insured to be on the yard before 8.30. Staff members supervise the yard from 8.30 - 8.40 every morning. At 8.40 the school bell rings and the children walk into the school with their teacher. All children should be in school for 8.40 but we understand that life happens and will always be happy to see your child whenever they arrive. 


We have two breaks during the day. Children eat a snack from 10.20-10.30 and go outside to play from 10.30-10.40. They have lunch from 12.00- 12.15 and go outside again from 12.15-12.45. We are a nut free school.


Junior and Senior Infants finish school at 1.20. They can be collected from the door of their classroom. 1st - 6th class finish school at 2.20 and are dismissed from the front of the school by their teachers. These classes take place after school and are facilitated by staff members and outside experts. The programme runs as two terms and information on how to book will be sent to all families, usually towards the end of September and again in February. During the school year 2025-2026 options included clay, chess, sports, ukelele and dance. There is a cost associated with these classes. If your child would like to take part in a class and finances are a barrier please let us know. Any such requests are received in total confidence and with the utmost respect.

Every child in our school gets a hot lunch which is delivered to their classroom daily free of charge. Our provider is The Lunch Bag. You will be given a code to register your child which will give you access to the menu which your child can order from. There are a number of different options every day including plain pasta and plain rice if your child would prefer that. There is no obligation to order; if you would prefer your child to bring their own lunch please let the school know. We ask that children bring a small snack to eat during first break. There is also the option to order a snack from The Lunch Bag which is delivered to the classroom - this is a paid option. Every child will be provided with their own lunch box to bring home the food container and forks are available in the school or you can choose to send one in with your child to reduce waste.
