2) Empowerment of medium: Acknowledgment of the medium and how specific mediums impact the meaning behind pieces.
3) General empowerment of artists: They did not meet the ideals of typically accepted art so they decided to create their own.
4) Innovation: Not only were the artists empowered after leaving behind the societally accepted ways of making art, they consequently paved the path of innovation for future artists to follow in their footsteps.
