Somme of the challenges he faced were speaking out for slavery and trying to escape. Frederick Douglass was born on February 14, 1818 on Talbot County, Maryland. Frederick Douglass didn't know his father and was separated from his mother. When he was a child he a slave. It was a difficult life for Douglass to live especially at a young age. Later Douglass had to move to the Auld family in Baltimore. When he was twelve his  master's wife thaught Frederick how to read and learn the alphabet. It was against the law at the time to teach slaves how to read. Later his master found out. Frederick was a really smart young man. He secretly thaught other slaves how to read and write. Once Frederick already known how to read he began reading articles about slavery. Frederick Douglass was in a really big trouble and was send to a othe farm where he was beaten up as a slave. He planned to secretly escape. He disguised himself as a sailor then boarded on a train to the north, and then arrived at New York as a free man. Later got married to Anna Murray. He met other slaves that were called abolitionists because they wanted to abolish slavery. Frederick Douglass became famous for speaking up for slavery. He still continued on doing his job abolishing slavery Frederick Douglass died on February 20,1818 in Washington D.C. by a heart attack.</div>]]></description>
