But the Left Behinds want to fight for their freedom and live their lives just like the Elites. But the Elites put down the Left Behinds by sending the colonel to destroy anyone who thinks of freedom.    This is shown throughout the whole book, one big part is when Adam blacks out and comes to and realizes he must fight for what he believes is right "Any other time like that, the Blackness would've risen and that would be him... Gone.  Blacked out.  But he's different now. he is not afraid. He will find her.  He will do what he needs to do.  He will become what he needs to become.  A Stone Rider."

I would recommend this book as definite read; it's full of great story telling and a great story line. I think the only thing I would say doesn't fit well in the story is some of the dialogue, as i read it sometimes felt like I was watching an old western movie instead of listening to some kids having as conversation. There are many examples of this in the book. Many times Adam is faced with many hard excruciating tasks that he is able to overcome on his own like when Adam was with Sadie and Kane and a pack of wolves came to attack the group of friends. Adam took charge and told Sadie and Kane to ride off as he stayed to deal with the wolves this makes me think of him as a leader because he risks his own life to save his friends.
