The game will be won by the pair that wins two sets. Thus, there is no exact time for the duration of a beach volleyball match.
The pair that first reaches 21 points will win the set, as long as there is a minimum difference of two points over the opposing pair. If there is a tie 20-20, the set will continue to be played until one of the pairs opens two points ahead.
In case of a 1-1 tie, a tie-break will be played. The third and decisive set is played up to 15 points, provided there is a difference of two points.
During the first two sets, the pairs change sides of the court every 7 points played. In the tie-break, the change of sides happens every 5 points played.
