Time to help people escape the north
Date:June 1, 2017

Summary
In this essay, “Time to help people escape the north”, Scott Gilmore tells that there are isolated regions in Canada. For example, Australia’s northern territory, Papua New Guinea, Siberia, and the state of Para have similar issues. These regions have high crime rate, and there is problem of violence. Furthermore, these regions are isolated. They are separated from the economy, politics, and the rest of society. These regions need to change. Likewise, there are problems of Aboriginal peoples in Canada, for they are isolated. We have to think of a way of solving this problem. There is one solution of helping people who live in remote regions. They need to build their life in southern Canada, and they have to leave from remote Aboriginal communities.

Analysis
I disagree with his opinion because escaping to southern Canada produces different problems. If a large number of people from the north go to the south, the southern region’s culture will be destroyed by people from the north. In addition, people from the southern Canada need to reserve their culture. People from the north need to create their own new culture, and they do not depend on the south. So, they need to participate in the economy, politics, and the rest of society. Also, they can make the region prosperous. If they can built attractive region, it can end the violence and depravation that plagues Canada’s remote region. Thus, the northern region will not be isolated. Plus, it helps to develop the economy.
