The setting is inspired by Reggie Emilia's approach aged 2 years old The setting is a dynamic early childhood center designed for children aged 2.5, fostering an environment that stimulates curiosity and exploration. Play spaces feature various interest areas, including a reading corner, a sensory exploration table, and a creative arts space. My observations indicate a growing interest among the children in cooperative play, collaborative problem-solving, and hands-on activities. The physical space is organized to encourage interactive and imaginative engagement, with outdoor areas dedicated to block play, musical instruments, and climbing frames. This setting reflects a commitment to responsive and child-centred learning, where the emerging interests of the diverse age group are nurtured through engaging and age-appropriate activities.

The basis for this investigation is based on the essential need to encourage cooperative play and collaborative problem-solving in young children. Acknowledging these elements as pivotal aspects of early development aims to shape responsive curriculum planning and teaching approaches that cater to the distinctive requirements and interests of infants and toddlers (Johnson, 2022).

Reference: Johnson, A.

In summary, the observations of outdoor block play, musical instruments play, and climbing frames play highlight rich learning experiences for children aged 2.5 yrs old. In outdoor block play, collaborative efforts showcase Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development, Piaget's cognitive development, and Erikson's psychosocial development. Musical instrument play reflects Vygotsky's ZPD, Piaget's sensory-motor exploration, and Gardner's Multiple Intelligences theory. Climbing frames play demonstrates Vygotsky's ZPD, Piaget's cognitive assimilation, and Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Systems Theory. These diverse activities contribute to the children's cognitive, social, and physical development in a holistic and child-centred learning environment.

Vygotsky, L. S. (1978).
