The broad cultural legacy of the Philippines is reflected in the rich tapestry of flavors, textures, and customs found in Filipino food. Its daring fusion of tart, sweet, and salty flavors defines it. Rice, various meats, and a plethora of fresh fruits and vegetables are staples. Popular meal adobo is a flavorful stew of meat, usually hog or chicken, marinated in spices, vinegar, and soy sauce. Another popular dish is sinigang, a sour soup made with tamarind, vegetables, and frequently pig or shrimp. Sweet finishes to meals come from desserts like halo-halo, a mixed dessert made with shaved ice, evaporated milk, and different components such sweet beans, jello, and fruits, and leche flan, a creamy caramel custard. Filipino cuisine is a delightful exploration of the country’s history and its warm, welcoming culture.

The beef is cooked with soy sauce and a small amount of water until it becomes tender after being sautéed with garlic, onions, and tomatoes. Addition of vegetables, such as bell peppers, carrots, and peas, is common to add additional nutrients and color. The dish's savory, slightly sweet flavor profile makes it a favorite and is typically served with steamed rice. A flexible dish that is a mainstay in many Filipino homes is ginaling.

Puto is a well-liked snack from the Philippines that is best eaten as a midday meal or as a side dish with savory foods. Puto is traditionally cooked with rice grains that have been soaked in water for the entire night and ground into a silky batter known as galapong. After that, the fermented rice batter is steam-cooked in individual molds or on bamboo platters lined with bananas. Throughout time, home cooks have created numerous delectable variations of these native cakes by incorporating flavorings like pandan and ube extracts or by covering them with cheese or salted duck eggs. Rice flour and coconut milk are combined to make delicious, soft, and fluffy puto. These savory Filipino steamed rice cakes go well with pancit and dinuguan or alone by themselves.

The idea of agenda setting theory is important to mass communication because it proposes that news media, including radio, television, newspapers, and magazines, shape public opinion by identifying the most important problems. Drs. Maxwell McCombs and Donald Shaw developed this hypothesis, which is predicated on the notion that the media has the power to influence public opinion by highlighting particular news stories on a regular basis. The hypothesis functions on two levels. Firstly, it selects a specific news item over others and shapes people's thoughts. This process is called object salience. In the second level, the public's perception of a specific news story chosen in the first level is shaped. This approach emphasizes how the media shapes public opinion and discourse.

Major Philippine television network ABS-CBN has participated in conversations over news and gatekeeping. When we talk about gatekeeping in the context of media, we're talking about the process of choosing or filtering the information that gets aired to the general audience. A Media and Information Literacy Project was recently undertaken by ABS-CBN journalists in partnership with GMA and the UP Department of Journalism. They produced videos for the internet that covered the value of journalism, gatekeeping procedures, and several approaches to fact-checking. The purpose of this project was to inform the public about the obligations and roles that media outlets have in influencing public opinion.

The Mamasapano conflict in 2015, which claimed the lives of 44 members of the Special Action Force of the Philippine National Police (PNP), is the basis for the movie. The only made-up characters are Myrtle Sarrosa and Ritz Azul, who play reporters for two competing networks.
