"...even in the limpid sunshine and comparative warmth and brightness outdoors..."

"...so that everything glistened like the surface of a mirror."

This suggests that it is a nice day and that it is a nice place. This could be pathetic fallacy because something good happens or it could be the opposite. Also, it is the opposite of what Eel Marsh House is like. For example it is being haunted and bad things are happening there, but around the house is beautiful due to the nature and animals.

"The woman in black seemed to haunt me, even here, to sit on the end of my bed, to push her face suddenly down close to mine as I lay asleep, so I woke crying out in terror."

Suggests she is inside his head and is haunting him even when she isn't there. It also could suggest he is seeing her but purely because he is going mad. It says he wokle up crying out in terror, which could suggest it was a nightmare. However this would had to have meant he knows who she is, and in order for it to be a nightmare, it musy have been a bad experience

"I have no doubt at all that she was whatever people call a ghost, that she was not a real, living, breathing human being."

This suggests she is and looks dead, which could result in people fearing her and that could be part of the reason she was shut off from society.

"It was a yellow fog, a filthy, evil-smelling fog, a fog that choked and blinded, smeared and stained."

This suggests that the London fog is deadly and that it can kill. This makes London a nasty place to live in however Arthur's house is nice. This is the opposite of Crythin Gifford, as it seems like a nice place to live, but Mrs Drablow's house is not a nice place to live.

"There was still a mist and a drizzling dampness in the air, though nothing like the dense, swirling fog of the night when I had crossed the causeway path."

This suggests that the fog the night before was very thick and wet, which could make Arthur get lost as he couldn't see where he was going.

"Towards the end of it, and on hearing some slight rustle behind me, I half turned, discretely and caught a glimpse of another mourner."

This suggests that they mourner was trying to be unnoticed and be hidden. It also suggests that Mrs Drablow did have someone else who wanted to go to her funeral even though everyone Arthur met said there wasn't going to be anyone.

"It was a yellow-grey fog..."

This suggests the fog was unpleasant to look at as well as be in. The facts that its yellow makes it seem deadly. This could be why it's called The London Peasouper. It also could suggest the fog looks very dull and disgusting.

"...and the sky had taken on a faint pinkish tinge at the edges..."

This suggests that the sky was pretty and the surrounding area was a nice place. This is the opposite to Eel Marsh House because the house is a horrible place to be as it is run down and broken, yet the surrounding area is pretty and nice.

"...the boy's mother, Jennet Humfrye, had died of a wasting disease twelve years after her son, that they were both buried in the now disused and tumbledown graveyard beyond Eel Marsh House..."

This suggests that the mother loved her son because they were buried next to each other in the same graveyard, which was not public. They both were buried next to each other in a quiet place so they can have peace. Jennet died twelve years after he son's death, which means she was living in pain from losing him and in grief. She died of a wasting disease which would be a slow painful death.
