When the sun is pointing directly to the U.S. we have summer. When the sun is not pointing directly at the U.S. but still a bit pointing to us we have spring and fall. When the countries opposite of us are pointing directly to the sun, we are pointing away from the sun so that is winter time. Our axis is at a 23.5 degree angle so we rotate on the axis, so we are rotating at a 23.5 degree angle. When we rotate we are turning to the sun and away from the sun, that is what gives us seasons. it takes us 24 hours to complete a full rotation or from day to night.
