We have seasons because we orbit around the sun and we have revolutions. When the sun is pointing directly to the U.S. we have summer. When the sun is not pointing directly at the U.S. but still a bit pointing to us we have spring and fall. When the countries opposite of us are pointing directly to the sun, we are pointing away from the sun so that is winter time. Our axis is at a 23.5 degree angle so we rotate on the axis, so we are rotating at a 23.5 degree angle. When we rotate we are turning to the sun and away from the sun, that is what gives us seasons. it takes us 24 hours to complete a full rotation or from day to night. It takes us 365 1/4 days to complete a full orbit or all the 4 seasons.

We have seasons because of our tilt and orbit. The time it take to orbit the sun is called a revolution. The revolution takes 365 1/4 days to complete. We are tilted at an axis of 23.5 degrees. Our tilt gives us seasons because of the angle of the tilt its facing at the sun. The tilt can change between 21 and 24 during times.

OK! We have seasons because the Earth rotates on its axis, leaving certain parts of the Earth exposed to the sun and other parts facing the vast nothingness of space. Although that is why we have day and night, we have seasons because of the Earth's orbit around the sun and its axis, leaving certain parts exposed to the sun for a longer time than others. If it is Summer in one country, for example America, it would be Winter on the other side of the world, China.
