         <description><![CDATA[<div>Poe's death was very sudden and to this day nobody knows how he died. There are many possibilities on how he meet his fate, and some include.<br>Congestion of the brain,<br>Alcoholism,<br>Rabies, epilepsy,  and even <br>carbon monoxide poisoning. <br>His last words were,<br>"Lord, help my poor soul."<br>Only seven people showed up to Poe's funeral. <br>Fun Fact:  After Poe's death his cat, Catterina, died believed due to heartbreak. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After Poe moved out of his foster parents, he tried to send a newspaper some of his poetry, but was rejected, and he got into some financial trouble. Poe finally had one of his short stories win a contest in the Baltimore Saturday Visitor. He continued to write more short stories and got a position as editor for the Southern Literary Messenger, where he gained the name "Tomahawk Man" for his ruthless reviews. In 1844 , published his most famous poem "The Raven", which made him a house-hold name, but still received low wages and became a advocate for higher wages for authors. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Poe Toaster is a mysterious man that nobody has ever found the identity of and has been leaving half a bottle of cognac and three roses at Poe's grave on the poet's&nbsp; birthday,&nbsp; January 19,&nbsp; and has been doing this since 1949. No one has tried to reveal his identity due to privacy, yet some believe the original Poe Toaster has died, and is now being done by his children. Many believe the reason he lays down three roses are in tribute to the three buried at the sight being Poe, Virginia, and Maria Clemm.</div>]]></description>

Poe's cousin was only thirteen years old. It was often said that they were more friends than a couple. Edgar loved her very much. She ended up coming down with tuberculosis and after years of watching her suffer she passed. Having to experience and watch his wife die for several years had a big effect on Poe.Watching her die was believed to give he inspiration and grief for some of his writing.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Days after Poe's death, an obituary was released. The obituary was written and published by Rufus Griswold, who was a writer who Poe had criticized his writing. The obituary and eventual memoir was written as a form of revenge for the review Poe had given Griswold and depicted Poe as a drunkard and womanizer who had no friends or morals. While meant to  distort Poe's image, Griswold's writings only increased sales for Poe's writings higher than they had even been in Poe's lifetime.  </div>]]></description>
