Malala Yousafzai is a young Pakistani woman, born on July 12, 1997, who at the age of 17 was the youngest person to ever have won the Noble Peace Prize. Malala was a strong believer in that girls should be able to experience the same education as boys. She began public speaking, telling her story to the world. Obviously, people didn't agree with Malalas speech, therefore it finished towards Malala being shot in the head by a Taliban gunman in 2012. Malala survived this tragedy therefore, winning the Noble Peace Prize. (Biography.

Malala has encouraged an open-minded view on by teaching every one of us to always be strong. She encourages you to never hesitate when raising your voice about something you strongly believe in. As she goes on to explain that if you don't open up and raise your voice no one will ever hear you so it's always worth a try. Malala also encourages you to never doubt your dreams, no matter how unrealistic they may seem. They're always possible, just don't give up on them. Lastly, Malala can encourage us to not seek any kind of revenge against the people who've done you wrong and just go forward with what you know (HuffPost Canada. (2013). Malala is an incredibly strong woman, she has taken a significant amount of risks throughout her life to have a positive impact on the world. In 2008 Malala gave a speech called "How dare I let the Taliban take away my basic right to education" (Malala yousafzai. (2019). October 9th, 2012 Malala’s good deed led to her being shot in the head on the way home from school. She never tried to seek any kind of revenge against the gunman whom she was shot by. She knew what she wanted so much more than revenge. (HuffPost Canada. (2013). Malala decided to put another foot forward even after this incident, in 2009 she started a BBC blog on what she believed in. By performing this she took the risk of the Taliban seeing and finding out it was her, again. In this case, the Taliban saw Malala as a big threat leading to many later consequences.

Malala's Worldview:
Malala is known for her belief that children all around the world should be able to have a quality education no matter their gender or background. In a speech of Malala's, she says, "One child, one teacher, one pen, and one book can change the world." This shows that it doesn't take much to change the world.

With her upfront bravery, years later Malala is now a well-known symbol for the United Nations campaign to allow for all children no matter their gender or social status to attend school. Malala’s parents played a big role in inspiring and encouraging her. They consistently told her she had the right to go to school, the right to speak up. Therefore, she was empowered to do this knowing she had support and the right to do so. If this wasn’t the case and Malala was living is Pakistan without an education she would likely already have two or three children. As a Muslim Malala would have been expected to marry by 18 as is the case with most other uneducated Muslim women in Pakistan. These women have little control over their lives and choices. (Nationalgeographic.com. (2016)). Majority of those who are deprived of school are girls, telling us we do need to fight for equal rights all over the world. Malala says that religion and culture have no excuse for denying a girl's education. She believes the Taliban are misusing the name of Islam, there is no prohibition of girls' education anywhere in Islam. Taliban tribes know this is the case but are afraid of the modernisation of society when girls start to become educated. Malala speaking up and encouraging girls and women allows everyone to feel valid and worthy of who they are. She is always reminding people what their rights are as a human being no matter your gender especially towards your education. (Trudy Rubin, I. (2019).

Taliban Worldview:
Taliban are known for their cruel, sexist and controlling ways. In some regions of Afghanistan, men are being beaten for not praying and it is compulsory for girls to stay home and not attend school. (Anon, (2019). The Taliban tribe are all about forcing and using women for slavery. A member of the Pakistani Taliban wrote Malala a letter called 'This is Why We Tried to 🤬 You'. In the letter, the Taliban man states that he "regrets that he didn't warn her before the attack but claimed that she was targeted for maligning the insurgents." Adnan Rasheed was sentenced in his part in a 2012 assassination attempt. The president in this time didn't think to apologise to Malala for the attack, which caused Malala to feel dishonoured, said he did say he found it to be shocking. (the Guardian.

I think that Malala is inspiring to our generation and generations of the future. Her story so amazing in that she continuously fought for what she believes in despite being attacked by people that were opposed to her. Learning about her story has inspired me to be brave, determined and humble with what I believe in no matter what it implies it may change lives. She has not changed my worldview except for being increasingly passionate about what I already believe in, equality. It has led me to realise how important the value of education equality between genders is. Malala being so successful in what she spoke up about and knowing how many people she positively impacted makes me want to help her fight for the rights of others.
