         <description><![CDATA[<div>The British supported the Canadians when they suffered repeated invasions and occupations, but each invasion ended with an American withdrawal. Private Joseph Plamondon received this medal  for his service at the battle of Crysler’s Farm in November 1813.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> Isaac Brock served as the civil administrator and military commander of upper Canada.  Laura Secord was a resident of Queenston, Upper Canada and she warned the British about an American attack.  Charles de Salaberry  was a Canadian Francophone who made his career in the British army. Mookomannish was an Odawa war chief and he fought as an ally of the British during the war.  These four people were very important during the war of 1812.</div>]]></description>
