الكيمياء جزء لايتجز من حياتنا فكل ماحولنا تدل ع تفاعلات كيميائيه حتى داخل جسمنا توجد تفاعلات فالطعام الذي نتناول تحدث له تفاعلات في الجهاز الهضمي وينتج عنه مواد جديدة جزء منها يمتصها الجسم والأخز تخرج ع شكل فضلات

الكيمياء كلمةٌ عربيّةٌ مأخوذةٌ من الفعل كَمَى، أي خبأ وستر الشيء عن الآخرين؛ وسميّ هذا العلم بالكيمياء لأنّ من اشتغل به منذ قديم الأزل كان يخفي معلوماته وأسراره عن الآخرين، أمّا التعريف العلميّ للكيمياء فهو العلم الطبيعيّ المركزيّ الذي يُعتبر حلقة وصلٍ بين مختلف العلوم الطبيعية؛ كالفيزياء، والجيولوجيا، والطِّب، والصَّيدلة.

كل شئ في الوجود يتكون من مادة، حتى أجسامنا, الكيمياء متواجدة في كل شي نقوم به، مثل الزراعة وطهي الطعام وتنظيف منازلنا وأجسادنا وحتى إطلاق صاروخ للفضاء, الكيمياء هي واحدة من العلوم الفيزيائية التي تساعدنا على وصف وشرح عالمنا.
