But the League soon disintegrated, and in the Second Balkan War, the Bulgarians fought the Greeks and Serbs over Macedonia, but Bulgaria lost. The war led Austria-Hungary and Germany, to decide that a war with the Serbs would be needed at some point to strengthen Austria-Hungary’s position.

- It ended with the Peace Treaty of Ouchy, because of the outbreak of the First Balkan War. 
- It was the first military conflict and it exposed the shakiness of the Ottoman Empire and its slipping control over peripheral territories.
