2. Give: Purdue's mascot is the Boilermaker Special! It's a converted fire engine, and sometimes you'll see it riding around campus!
2. Fill-in-the-Blank: Sometimes you'll see a train engine driving around campus! It's called the Boilermaker Special and is Purdue's official _______!

So...insert moments to move! Here are some examples that get them moving and immerse them in campus life more fully:
  • Jump the tracks by the Bell Tower
  • Clapping in the Clapping Circles
  • Following Neil Armstrong's Footsteps
  • Drink from the Lion's Head Fountain (when it's running)

  • The Mural in STEW
  • The Block P
*Be sure to only use 1 or 2 of these and not all of them! Don't overwhelm your tour with photo-op moments :)

Before the tour, assign each guest/family to 1 of 2 teams (e.g. Purdue Pete or the Boilermaker Special). Explain that throughout the tour, you'll be asking Purdue Trivia questions. Whichever teams answer correctly/first gain a trivia point for their team! See whose team wins by the end of the tour.

Try pre-setting questions for them to ask! You can write out questions on pieces of paper before your tour and hand them to guests at the beginning. Then, when you ask "Does anyone have a question?" you can prompt them to use the questions you gave them to begin with.
