Social Change.

"Social change is the transformation over time. Societies change all the time. Social change often generates controversy". Macionis (pg, 489) I chose this video because over the years we have seen more and more frequently how women demand gender equality, how they defend their rights and fight for respect and courage towards each other in search of security and a more stable future in every way. This movement has gained more strength every day at a global level and is something that has generated some awareness and controversy in society in general.
https://youtu.be/Ak8KjZ7o59g

A clear example of collective behavior is racism and it is a problem we have always seen. Although in recent years the situation has changed a lot because it has generated societies to unite and protest to try to make a change in some way and prevent these acts from going unpunished or from repeating themselves.
"Collective behavior is activity involving a large number of people that is unplanned, often controversial, and can bring about change". Macionis (pg, 490)
https://www.dw.com/en/opinion-on-systemic-racism-and-police-violence-usa/a-53642476

According to the text in the book Macionis says that "mass society is a society in which prosperity and expanding bureaucracy have weakned traditional social ties" (pg, 501)
I relate this image to the theme because we see how a group of people work hard to maintain an economy but at the same time see the workers worn out and apparently not well informed of what is going on around them even though with their efforts they make a society prosper. https://www.slideshare.net/daisyqing/bureaucracy-1747480

This image refers to the subject because we see allusion to gender inequality. Since decades women have been denigrated in a thousand ways by men, thus being the beneficiaries in many aspects and they have taken control without taking us into account or giving us the place we deserve despite doing the same job or even more than them.
"The social-conflict approach stresses the link between culture and inequality. Any cultural trait, from this point of view, benefits some members of society at the expense of others" "Gender is an important dimension of social inequality and social conflict". Macionis (pgs, 66, 299)
https://www.vectorstock.com/royalty-free-vector/women-fighting-gender-inequality-demand-fight-fot-vector-23920555

"Individuals use gender as one element of their personal performances as they socially construct reality through everyday interactions. Our society defines men as having more value than women, the sex roles that define how women and men should behave place men in control of social situations; women play a more diferential role" Macionis (pg, 299).
In this publicity we see how the woman is denigrated and badly valued just for not being "attractive and the typical stereotype of a woman" and clearly the man rejects her at the beginning because of this. Sadly, this is the reality today and situations like this are seen everywhere.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84QdDUCIPZs

"Postmodernity refers to the trasnformation caused by the information revolution and the postindustrial economy" "The century was unsuccesful in solving social problems such as poverty. This fact is evident in today's high rates of unemployment and poverty" Macionis (pg, 508)
I chose this image because it seemed very real to what we are living today. There are so many countries suffering from poverty and inequality where people don't even have enough to eat and go to the point of putting their children to work too instead of going to school and playing. Children who must submit to long hours of work in exchange for a negligible salary.
https://opinionmashup.wordpress.com/2015/06/13/editorial-stopping-child-labor/

"Modernization theory explains global poverty as the product of the world economic system. The operation of multinational corporations makes poor nations economically dependent on rich nations" Macionis (pg, 513)
I related this image to the theme because I could see and feel how governments with better economies take advantage in a certain way of the most needy countries having as a consequence the dependency to be able to survive and have a better quality of life regardless of the long hours of work or the consequences because most families are affected by poverty and manage to get enough to survive by working for international companies.
https://www.cagle.com/john-darkow/2011/09/poverty-in-america-2
