As they went into the time machine they got ready to kill a dinosaur as they were ready to go the machine took them back days, months, years, centuries into the past. Whale on their way Eckels continued to ask questions about these dinosaurs they were going to see. Once they got there everyone checked their equipment and made sure it was working after doing so Travis explained how they were in the past and nothing they knew had happened yet. He told they the rules of their trip and how careful they have been to do all of these things and how they all need to be careful to keep the future they way it is. Not after long they left the machine they arrived on and looked in aw as they saw a world untouched by man filled with forests and creatures whale their constantly reminded of the rules they need to follow. After we hear Eckels talk for a bit about his experience they finally see it the T-Rex they came for.

The climax of the story happens when the group is in the past and they see the T-Rex. This is the moment that changes everything to come in the story. As they see it coming towards them Eckels excitment quickly turns to fear as the pollination sees how fearsome this creature is. How it's size out weighs it, how each step causes the ground to shake and how despite its size its speed was great. In seconds It ran over 100 feet closing the gap between them. As this was happening Eckels was struck with an overwhelming sense of fear that he doubted that the beast could be killed. This caused him to walk backwards away from the danger witch lead him to walk off the platform they were told to stay on no matter what until the thought unkillable beast went down.

The story concludes its self by showing how Eckels one action in the past changes almost everything in the story. After everyone returns from the past the room they came back too was the same as they left but also different for the most part everything was where they left it but with slight differences, the person at the desk was in the same position but it was a different person, the colors around the room were different, and the sign that welcomed them to the building wasn't spelled with the same language they knew. Once Eckels returns and they notices that he caused the world changes he falls into a chair as he notices a small butterfly in the mud of his boots. After relishing what he did he asks the man at the desk "who won the election yesterday" and to his dismay Deutscher, his political rivals won the election. After his denial of what is now his reality they try and ask if their was anything they could do to fix this but with no answer. The story ends on a cliff hanger as Travis points his gut at Eckels but the story doesn't tell us weather or not he does pull the trigger just that there was a sound like thunder at the end of the story.

As they finished killing the beast almost all of the people that played to be there were in shock from what they had just experienced weather it be by throwing up of shivering with fear as they are doing this they see the tree that would have killed the T-Rex fall after witch Lesperance offered them a picture with the beast witch none of them took. As Eckels sat in the time machine Travis came in as said to Eckels "get up!" After witch he told him to go on the path alone and that their leaving them their because he went off the path after explaining that he's going to cost them their insurance money and how he could have jeopardised the future. After they calmed down they made Eckels go out on the path alone and dig out the bullets they used since they didn't belong in the past after witch he came back bloody and tired as they pressed to go back to the present hoping that his actions didn't change all of human kind forever.

Irony

In my opinion in the case of irony it didn't start to show until the later portions of the story and when they did it was to show how Eckels messed up or doubted himself witch helped the point of Human vs. Self by show casing their main moment of doubt in the story ""It can't be killed," Eckels pronounced this verdict quietly, as if there could be no argument.". This last part shows how he was in denial after he saw the butterfly on his boot and knows he can't do anything ""Not a little thing like that! Not butterfly!" cried Eckels."

Imagery was used all throughout the story to describe the way things looked but the examples that stand out to me are when they finished killing the dinosaur "Like a stone idol, like a mountain avalanche, Tyrannosaurus fell." and the other moment that stands out is when they get back to the present and notice that things aren't the way they left them and their actions changed the future "The colors, white, gray, blue, orange, in the wall."

Foreshadowing I feel was hinted to heavily in side of the story their were several things that could be taken as foreshadowing that I feel fit it perfectly like how in the beginning of the story they Ellis the colors of the building they were at and how when they get back it changes "an aurora that flickered now orange, now silver, now blue" or how constantly in the story Eckels was asking about the trip and how his respons show why he froze in shock when he was face to face with a dinosaur "Eckels flushed angrily. "Trying to scare me!"".

The main conflict we see in the story is Human vs. Self. This is shown all throughout the story by how the main character is asking questions that normally seem as just a curious person are him trying to deal with the fear of confronting a dinosaur. In the story he's asking questions about the trip all the way up to the moment they confront the T-Rex. After he sees it he goes in to shock and doubted that the dinosaur can be killed. More importantly he doubts that he himself can kill a gient creature with a rifle that is so small compared to it witch leeds him to accidentally walking off the path changing everything that they knew. The life they worked so hard for was changed in an instant due to one simple mistake.

The theme of the story could be that one thing no matter how small it is can change the life. This is show by how them killing a butterfly changed all of their lives. This could also be referencing the butterfly effect with is the idea that a butterfly at one side of the world can make a tornado on the other side of the world.

Most of what we learn about Eckels it indirect. They never directly tell us how he feels they always let us know by making comments to him and letting us the reader see his reaction. An example of this is how at the beginning of the story when Elckels asks "Does this safari guarantee I comeback alive?". It shows us the reader that he's scared of this journey and is unsure of its safety and all of this is shown without the tighter directly tell us he is scared.
