The social reform result surprised me a bit since I encourage even my children to think about their impacts on others and the environment. At the same time, I can see the reason behind it as an educator because I tend to focus on the individual student, not the whole class. It is exciting to see what my main objectives are with educating a classroom and where my focus is on education. The TPI test is useful in knowing where my strengths and weakness are as an educator and what I should learn and grow on. I use technology in my everyday life, from watching movies with my kids, schooling, text or calling my friends and family and looking up recipes to make for supper. Technology is always my go-to when I need information or help on tasks around the house. I have used technology a lot over the years to become a role model for not only my friends and family but my community as well. I have made pages for healthy eating recipes, footsteps for paws page that helps raise awareness and money for our local animal shelter and a fitness page that boosts positive body image and health goals. Technology has allowed me to reach more people to be able to help them when they have questions on budgeting their money, family vacations and events that people can go to for free or cheap in around our local area. Technology influences my daily life in a lot of ways. Some ways technology helps me connect with the outside world, especially if I am staying home and feel disconnected from everyone. Technology has allowed me to finish my education and share ideas, photos, texts, phone calls and information with everyone I know easily from home. I would never want smart boards to leave the classroom, I find it is such a great tool to educate our students if used correctly and not depended on for every lesson. Smartboards cut the costs of markers and erasers and are also environmentally friendly taking these items out that take 100’s of years to decompose in the earth. I would like to have the French learning for kids full app. It is $4.49, and it has a lot of fun games for kids to learn French. This app has the full French alphabet, colouring, shapes and numbers. Games that engage kids to want to learn French. Words are pronounced in clear, gentle words. You can use this app to navigate and understand, even for kids to use. Adults can have fun learning and play along with their kids. Rated E for everyone so no worries of it being inappropriate. I feel like I am an extremely creative person. I showcase my creativity in almost in everything I do. I take pictures just about every day and I love to paint in my free time. Technology has allowed me to really embrace my creativity online. The Shutterfly app allows me to upload all my photos and creatively organize and create a book with all my photos. There are many design apps that have allowed me to upload art and photos and add colours or fonts to them. Technology has allowed me to showcase my creativity within classroom assignments such as powerpoint where I was able to use tools within that application. I rarely post feedback for apps unless I really love the app and use it daily. Such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, canva, Netflix, Crave and Amazon Kindle where I use them almost every day. Social media apps allow me to quickly post, see what everyone is up to and look up on upcoming events. Canva I use a lot because I love editing my photos before posting which I try to post daily on one of my social media apps. Netflix and Crave I use pretty much daily as I have no T.V in my house and these apps allow me to watch shows anywhere that has wifi, even when I was in Mexico and bored at 9 p.m while my kids were sleeping and I couldn't leave the room. Amazon Kindle is nice to read books anywhere without having to use wifi or mobile network if download onto your cellphone. Perhaps reflect about these barriers in your Course Thoughts Journal. 

Some of the barriers that a teacher would encounter with a web 2.0 tool would sometimes be a web 2.0 once students sign up it saves their data (especially if they sign up through their Facebook account). The privacy settings are low in some of them, and at times students post personal information on them for the world to see. This disadvantage alone would prevent me from using some 2.0 tools if they have low privacy settings or I cannot overlook what the students are doing within them. Another barrier would be the classroom age group; I do not think any student under the age of 13 should be using a web 2.0 tool for their education by themselves without help from parents or instructor in signing up or guiding them through the guidelines of using a web 2.0. Although I love the technology use that web 2.0 gives educators, I still think that tradition classrooms should be used more within a school. I think people learn better in a flipped classroom because they can watch recordings of teacher's lessons to help retain the knowledge they have acquired. Students can ask the class questions when they are too shy to ask in front of them in a traditional classroom. Teachers can post helpful tools in a flipped classroom to help the students process what is being taught to them or on assignments they are working on. Students can collaborate easily through a flipped classroom by posting assignments or group chatrooms together in one area that they all have access too. Parents can look and observe what their children are doing and keep up to date on their progression throughout the course.
