The U.S. deeply feared that the Russian Revolution would inspire communism/anarchism inspired radicalism within the states. The U.S. labor strikes were already on the rise and the government thought this would only make them worse. It didn't help that the press declared that the new immigrants were wanting to ruin the "American way of life". Which not only startled the government but the American people as well. There was also 3 cases that packaged bombs were delivered to government officials. One of those package bombings had been the U.S. Attorney General Alexander Palmer's home. Which led to the true climax of the Red Scare which was when Palmer ordered the Palmer Raids. The Palmer Raids consisted of many violent and abusive law enforcement attempts to arrest suspected communists, anarchists, and leftist radicals.
