Creating Impact on Student Outcomes: Coaching beginning teachers directly impacts the learning experience of their students. When I support teachers in building effective instructional strategies, classroom management, and engagement, the positive effects ripple out to students, creating a stronger educational environment. I also see teaching as a means to prepare students for their future, not just for the present or past. This forward-thinking approach is essential because it ensures that students are equipped with the skills and mindset they need for an unknown future. It’s crucial to shift from teaching students to comply with outdated systems to providing them with the opportunities to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. This belief is especially important to me as a parent, where I witness my own children’s love of learning but also their reluctance toward school. This indicates to me that our system must evolve. By supporting new teachers and inspiring veteran educators along the way, I believe we can begin to make this shift—helping students see school not as something they have to do, but something they get to experience. It’s a driving force in my work and motivation to help inspire that change. I want to inspire and continue to put on my "Future Glasses" for our students in NC.
