The Bilecki Family lived in Zawalow, Poland, which is now apart of Ukraine, Julian Bilecki and Roman bilecki where living with their families in Zawalow, 1943 during a war, after the holocaust Roman died in December of 2006 and Julian passed away in March 2007, whens jews where being rounded up to be put it ghettos the Bilecki family helped as many jews as they could.

In 1942 all the jews in Zawalow where rounded up and put in ghettos

-in 1943 the ghetto holding the jews had been liquidated and only a few jews where able to escape.They sought out shelter in the woods but knew they couldnt survive on their own so they went to the Bileckis in search for help

-in 1944 the area the bunks where in that held the jews was liberated by the soviet army.

-in 1998 the bilecki family reunited with the 6 jews they saved.

if the bile ki family hadnt offered help and been so careful more people would have died.i belive the jewish people that the bilecki family saved where very grateful.

The bilecki family was so careful theyd jump from tree to tree to not leave foot prints in the snow so they wouldnt give away the bunkers, and they didnt just give food and rush away they stayed to visit with the jews too.

I belive the jews in the bunkers and the bilecki werent really affect by it considering the jews in the bunkers were jot in the concentration camps so they porbably never heard about it unless it was on the news and the bilecki family saw it on the news.

Nearly all the jews of the podhajce ghetto in the town of Zawalow were killed by Nazis which made the jews in the bunkers very lucky, and probably very graceful and thankful to the bilecki family, but their also probably really happy they made the decision to seek for help from the bilecki family.
