         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Date: April, 1775<br><br></div><div><br>Location: Massachusetts<br><br></div><div><br>Recap in your own words: British were supposed to collect guns, cannons, etc. They ran into a militia at Lexington then moved on to concord and ran into another militia that were protecting their weapons and a fight happened. This was the first battle, and where the "First shot around the world" happened<br><br></div><div><br>Who won and why: The colonial militia won because they ambushed the British army and the British troops had split up. <br><br></div>]]></description>

The colonist have better communication and better backup because the battles are in their home town. This battle is a major turning point because this is when the French started to help the colonists.  <br><br>Who won and why: The patriots won because they had the French. The patriots cut off supply routes, and the British never got backup so they had to surrender.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Date: Winter, 1777<br><br>Location: Pennsylvania<br><br>Recap in your own words: Valley Forge is a training camp. The continental army was in bad shape because it was winter and they were running down on supplies. After the French arrived the troops began their training. This training helped them become stronger. Out of 10000 men, 30% were Irish. 1/7 were African American, We also had Frenchmen, polish, and Natives.</div><div><br><br>Who won and why: The continental army won this battle. They won because they got better training and were stronger than ever!  When they first arrived they were weak and almost out of supplies, but when the French arrived they got better training.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Date: October, 1781<br><br></div><div><br>Location: Virginia<br><br></div><div><br>Recap in your own words: This is  not technically the last battle of the Revolution, but the British thought it was to costly to carry on. In this battle Washington surrounds the British by land and the French blockade the British ships. This battle lead General Washington to be elected the first president of the United states.  </div><div><br>Who won and why: The patriots won this battle. The British didn't get reinforcements so General Lord Cornwallis surrenders. They also surrendered because we had them surrounded by land and by ships. <br><br></div>]]></description>

It was also a treaty for British to recognize the U.S as an independent country. Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and John Jay were the U.S representatives at Paris.
