The villain, simply known as Truly Devious, is a shadowy figure and Stevie is obsessed with solving the puzzle of who they are. And there are two more books in the series! Then they catch the killer after he attacks Nick with a gun. Every chapter has big impact of the story. What I also liked every one to two chapters it changed point of views of the characters. Mary Downing Hahn did a really good job on describing the setting, telling the story, and describing the characters, and she made it easy to picture what was going on. We just read this book in ENL class. And about the book I only like a couple of chapters, and the story was about a girl and a skateboard and the kid who’s scared of dogs. My least favorite part was when they started talking about boogers. What I like about this is that the characters know each other and they live in the same town.

I like the character who wants to become a lawyer because he wants to save his brother that is in jail. The characters are nice and the way the characters dealt with the typical teenage problems were good.

My favorite part of the book is when the - 4 friends called The Low Cuts appeared. Even though all the characters in the book were going through something, I feel like The Low Cuts story happens most in real life. Kids act up in school and get in trouble, but it's because they have things going on at home. The book shows us some of the real life things kids in MS/HS go through, and how they may seem tough on the outside, most of them are just dealing with life as they navigate their own situations. It is fun and interesting to see how each of the stories/chapters are interconnected.
